Biography

Jaxson Padgett is a dedicated French horn player based out of Red Hook, NY. Jaxson is currently a member of the Orchestra Now, a graduate training orchestra at Bard College.Jaxson attended the Peabody Institute for his undergraduate studies under Robert Rearden, and recently received his Masters at San Francisco Conservatory under Kevin Rivard. Beyond academia, Jaxson has been a performer with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, contributing to the ensemble's commitment to innovative new music. He has also participated in the Game Developers Conference, showcasing the intersection of music and interactive media, and the North German Orchestra Academy, expanding his international performance experience. With a passion for both classical and contemporary repertoires, Jaxson continues to engage audiences through his versatile and expressive horn playing.

Teaching Biography

Jaxson offers students a thoughtful, patient approach to teaching with strategies and techniques for growing, developing and ultimately mastering brass playing; more importantly, though, he works with students in a way that guides them to being the best person, as well as musician, as they can be.

  With specialized pedagogical training from both Peabody Conservatory  of Johns Hopkins University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Teach SFCM program, Jaxson loves introducing elementary school students to brass playing  an avid performer, Jaxson has played internationally with Video Game Developers Conference Orchestra, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Eastern Music Festival Orchestra, and Norddeutsch Akadamie Orchester.  Jaxson is currently a member of the Orchestra Now, a graduate Training Orchestra at Bard College.Jaxson has previously studied with Kevin Rivard, Robert Rearden, and Carolyn Wahl.
